Gonda: A God Bharai, Annaprashan and Healthy Baby Show programme was organised at the Zila Panchayat auditorium in Gonda under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, following directions from District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan.
Organised by the Department of Child Development and Nutrition, the programme was chaired by Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad and focused on raising awareness about maternal and child health, nutrition and early childhood development.
As part of the event, traditional God Bharai ceremonies were conducted for pregnant women and Annaprashan ceremonies were held for children. A Healthy Baby Show was also organised to encourage healthy growth and proper child nutrition.
Officials and public representatives highlighted the importance of balanced diets, regular health check-ups and proper care for pregnant and lactating women. Emphasis was also placed on ensuring adequate nutrition and healthcare for children.
Anganwadi workers and helpers who play a key role in delivering Child Development and Nutrition Department schemes at the grassroots level were felicitated during the programme. Officials said Anganwadi centres serve as an important link for providing nutrition and health services to children, pregnant women and lactating mothers.
Chief Development Officer Dayanand Prasad said a healthy society is built on the foundation of healthy mothers and children. He stressed the need to create greater awareness about nutrition, health and sanitation among families and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of government schemes.
District Programme Officer Sanjay Kumar, District Social Welfare Officer S.P. Singh, District Probation Officer Gaurav Mishra, BJP District President Akbal Bahadur Tiwari and officials, employees and public representatives from various departments attended the programme.
The event sought to strengthen awareness about maternal and child nutrition while recognising the contribution of Anganwadi workers and helpers in implementing welfare initiatives at the community level.
